Prävention lohnt sich auch beim Älterwerden

Das Älterwerden bringt viele Herausforderungen mit sich. Die Lebensumstände sind im Wandel und die Funktionen im Körper verändern sich. Bei der Bewältigung von Belastungen und Beschwerden spielen auch die Einnahme von Medikamenten oder der Konsum von Alkohol eine Rolle. Damit verbundene Risiken, wie z.B. für unangenehme Wechselwirkungen oder für Stürze, erhöhen sich. Zusätzlich können sich problematische Konsummuster entwickeln.

Umso wichtiger ist es, dass ältere Menschen Lebenssinn und Lebensfreude finden bzw. erhalten können und einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit psychoaktiven Substanzen pflegen. Suchtvorbeugung lohnt sich daher auch im Alter.

VIVID bietet dabei fachliche Unterstützung. Mit Vorträgen und moderierten Gesprächsrunden für Senior*innen ab 60 Jahren wenden wir uns direkt an ältere Menschen und ihnen nahestehende Personen. Interessierten Einrichtungen, die ihren Schwerpunkt im Kontakt mit älteren Menschen haben, bieten wir Informationsveranstaltungen, Schulungen und fachliche Beratungen.

Fachtagung Alkoholprävention im Alter 2023 (Rückblick)
Auf der Fachtagung „Ein Glaserl in Ehren kann niemand verwehren!?“ wurden am 28. Juni 2023 in Graz konkrete Ansätze und Beispiele vorgestellt, wie sich Alkoholprävention im Alter wirksam umsetzen lässt.
