Gesundheitskompetenz ist die Fähigkeit, Gesundheitsinformationen zu finden, zu verstehen, zu beurteilen und anzuwenden. Dazu gehört auch, sich im Gesundheitssystem zurechtzufinden.

Gemeinsam für eine bessere Orientierung im Gesundheitssystem

Nicht nur in der Suchtprävention, sondern auch in der Gesundheitsförderung schafft Wissen die notwendige Basis für gesunde Entscheidungen. Aus diesem Grund feiern im Oktober der Gesundheitsfonds Steiermark und die ÖPGK gemeinsam den Monat der Gesundheitskompetenz. Das Motto lautet: „Gut orientiert durchs Gesundheitssystem – Navigation braucht Gesundheitskompetenz!“

Um die Gesundheitskompetenz nachhaltig zu fördern, ist die Zusammenarbeit aller Stakeholder im Gesundheitssystem sehr wichtig. Denn für viele Steirer*innen ist es schwierig, Gesundheitsinformationen zu verstehen bzw. sich in den vielfältigen Angeboten des Gesundheitssystems zurecht zu finden.

Mit der Informationsplattform „gesund-informiert.at“ arbeitet der Gesundheitsfonds Steiermark daran, die Gesundheitskompetenz der steirischen Bevölkerung zu stärken und Gesundheitsinformationen verständlicher zu machen.

Welche Station im Gesundheitssystem ist die richtige für mich? An wen soll ich mich wenden? Das ist bei gesundheitlichen Problemen nicht immer klar: An die Hausärztin oder den Hausarzt? An die Fachärztin oder den Facharzt? An die Ambulanz im Krankenhaus? Oder ist vielleicht gar keine ärztliche Versorgung notwendig?
