Am 21. November 2024 veranstaltete VIVID eine Online-Tagung rund um die Themen Jugend, digitale Medien und Suchtverhalten. Durch informative und kurzweilige Vorträge boten Expert*innen Einblicke in die Bereiche Forschung, Prävention und Suchttherapie.

Suchtverhalten im Internet

Durch eine vom Gesundheitsfonds Steiermark beauftragte Studie liegen aktuelle Zahlen für die Internetnutzung in der Steiermark vor. 32 Prozent der Schüler*innen und neun Prozent der Erwachsenen sind in Bezug auf ihr Internetverhalten suchtgefährdet. Dies ist nicht gleichzusetzen mit „suchtkrank“, zeigt aber deutlich, dass es Maßnahmen benötigt, um eine gesunde Internetnutzung zu fördern und das Risiko einer Suchtentwicklung zu reduzieren.

Deshalb wurde ein Aktionsplan für die Steiermark entwickelt. Expert*innen aus den Gebieten der Prävention, Beratung, Therapie und Wissenschaft haben insgesamt 27 Empfehlungen erarbeitet, die in den nächsten Jahren umgesetzt werden sollen. Ein erster Schwerpunkt des Aktionsplanes ist es, Bezugspersonen von Jugendlichen und Kindern zu informieren und zu sensibilisieren.

Die Online-Tagung richtete sich daher an Erwachsene, die mit Kindern und Jugendlichen leben oder arbeiten und sich für folgende Fragen interessieren:

  • Was genau versteht man unter dem Begriff „Suchtverhalten im Internet“?
  • Wie verbreitet ist das Phänomen in der Steiermark?
  • Was sind die wichtigsten Ansätze, um süchtige Mediennutzung zu verhindern?
  • Wohin wende ich mich bei Verdacht auf Suchtgefährdung?
  • Wie sieht Therapie von Suchtverhalten im Internet in der Praxis aus?
