VIVID bekommt WHO-Preis

VIVID wurde von der Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) mit dem „World No Tobacco Day Award 2020“ ausgezeichnet. Der Preis gilt der jahrzehntelangen Arbeit von VIVID in der Tabakprävention.

Auszeichnung geht erstmals an österreichische Einrichtung

Anlässlich des Weltnichtrauchertags 2020 wurde VIVID – Fachstelle für Suchtprävention von der Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) mit dem „World No Tobacco Day Award“ ausgezeichnet. Dieser Preis wurde VIVID für die langjährige Arbeit der in Tabakprävention verliehen.

Die Einreichung erfolgte durch das Bundesministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit, Pflege und Konsumentenschutz für die Arbeit in der Tabakprävention und den Einsatz für das Nichtrauchen. Diese höchste Auszeichnung im Feld der Tabakprävention erhielt mit VIVID erstmals eine österreichische Institution.

In der Begründung ihrer Wahl strich der WHO-Regionaldirektor für Europa, Hans Henri Kluge, den „hartnäckigen, langjährigen, und erfolgreichen Einsatz einer kleinen Non-Profit-Organisation“ hervor.

Wegen COVID-19 fand die Preisverleihung nicht in Genf statt. Stattdessen überreichte Gesundheitsminister Anschober VIVID am 29. Mai 2020 in kleinem, aber feierlichem Rahmen den Preis. Und die WHO veranstaltete Corona-tauglich eine „Virtual Ceremony“.

VIVID fühlt sich durch den WHO-Preis sehr geehrt und motiviert für die weitere Arbeit in der Tabakprävention.
