Glücksspielsucht-Arbeitshilfe für Pädagog*innen

Spielsucht in der Familie belastet auch die Kinder. Eine neue Arbeitshilfe unterstützt Pädagog*innen, die Anzeichen zu erkennen und sensibel zu kommunizieren, mit den Kindern und den Eltern.

Arbeitshilfe der Fachstelle für Glücksspielsucht

Ist ein Elternteil süchtig nach Glücksspiel, dann wirkt sich das auf die ganze Familie aus. Kinder und Jugendliche mit einem spielsüchtigen Elternteil schweigen oft darüber. Sie zeigen nur diffus, dass etwas nicht stimmt. Für Pädagog*innen und andere Fachleute, die mit Kindern und Jugendlichen arbeiten, ist es daher schwierig, Glücksspielsucht in der Familie ihrer Schützlinge zu erkennen und damit umzugehen.

Damit sich das ändert, gibt es nun eine „Arbeitshilfe zur Unterstützung von Kindern aus glücksspielsuchtbelasteten Familien“. Sie wurde von der Fachstelle für Glücksspielsucht Steiermark veröffentlicht.

Zentrale Fragen dieser Arbeitshilfe sind: Wie kann ich erkennen, dass in der Familie des Kindes oder Jugendlichen jemand glücksspielsüchtig ist? Welche Anzeichen gibt es, dass der Vater oder die Mutter spielt? Wie kann ich zu diesem Thema sensibel mit dem Kind oder Jugendlichen kommunizieren? Wie spreche ich Eltern an, ohne ihnen gleich abzusprechen, trotzdem gute Eltern sein zu können? Welche Therapie-Einrichtungen kann ich empfehlen?

Hellhörig werden

Fallbeispiele zeigen, was eine pädagogische Bezugsperson von Kindern und Jugendlichen hellhörig für eine Glücksspielsucht von Eltern machen kann. Es werden Handlungsempfehlungen für Fachkräfte gegeben, wie sie dazu sowohl mit den Kindern bzw. Jugendlichen als auch mit den Eltern kommunizieren können. Auch Materialen für kindgerechte Kommunikation enthält die Arbeitshilfe. Unterstützungsangebote und der Weiterverweis zur Therapie runden diese Arbeitshilfe ab.

Die Arbeitshilfe richtet sich an Fachkräfte der Kinder- und Jugendarbeit, Sozialen Arbeit, Kinderbetreuung und -erziehung, des Gesundheitswesens und anderer Berufe im Umgang mit Kindern und Jugendlichen. VIVID-Angebote zu Glücksspiel

VIVID – Fachstelle für Suchtprävention setzt auf mehreren Ebenen der Prävention an: Zum Thema „Kinder aus suchtbelasteten Familien“ können sich Fachkräfte aus Kindergarten, Schule, sozialer Arbeit und flexiblen Hilfen weiterbilden. Ein Familienumfeld mit einer Suchtproblematik belastet die persönliche Entwicklung von Kindern. Daher ist ein möglichst breites und aufeinander abgestimmtes Hilfesystem besonders wichtig.  Glücksspielprävention bei Jugendlichen besteht aus einem Workshop mit Jugendlichen und fachlicher Beratung für Jugendarbeiter*innen.

Die Seminarreihe „PRÄKOM“ vermittelt Fachkräften der Jugendarbeit und Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Fachwissen und praktische Umsetzungsmöglichkeiten. Ein Schwerpunkt ist darin, Kindern aus suchtbelasteten Familien Halt zu geben.
